Nick graduated in 2008 from the University of Keele and took the unorthodox route into his Profession by gaining a Junior Physiotherapy role in private practice with the well established North West based David Roberts Physiotherapy. Under Dave and his senior team’s guidance Nick became a firm foundation within the company and within 18 months was appointed Team Physio for Lancashire Cricket Club 2nd XI for 2 years. Developing into a senior Physiotherapist, Nick had to relinquish this role to become a more established clinician within the clinic setting, expanding his skills and experience in treating an extremely busy and varied Musculoskeletal caseload. He went on to work in the company for 8 years, becoming the Lead Physiotherapist at his base clinic.

His sporting experience did not stop at the cricket, as he became a vital member of the medical team for the Sir Ian Botham marathon charity walk events, helping to keep the crew going in their bid to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research as well as other locally based charities. Working on a voluntary basis, he has now been involved in 5 charity walk events from 2008 to recently supporting Sir Ian’s latest walks in November 2013 in Sri Lanka and in December 2015 in South Africa, gaining invaluable experience in day-to-day injury management / prevention in the field.

The most up-to-date evidence based practice has always been at the heart of Nick’s approach but his drive to become a more dynamic Physio who believes in active rehabilitation lead him to completing his APPI Pilates training passing levels 1,2 and 3 in matwork skills. Nick incorporates this into his daily profession by providing 1:1 pilates based rehabilitation for his clients as part of his treatment plan to enable his clients to self-manage their recoveries and help prevent recurrence in their symptoms.

Nick has now relocated with his Wife to Hampshire following her acceptance of a job locally near Southampton. In his spare time he is a very keen cricketer, an 8 handicap golfer and when he can, loves to work on his other passion whilst out walking his dog which is Photography. He also has 6 brothers and 2 sisters who are all sporty so was never short of work outside of work!

Nick has been consistently outstanding every session. He put me at ease from day 1 and genuinely cares about my recovery. On top of that he is a genuinely brilliant guy and has been a fantastic listener during a challenging time for me. Cannot rate him highly enough.
